Life is worth Racing for. Enter Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life and raise money for life-saving cancer research.
At just over 2 miles, 3k is ideal for families or groups having a go at their first Race for Life. It's a fun, achievable event for everyone – and an unforgettable day out. There's no pressure to finish in a certain time. Walk, jog or run or make your way around the course however suits you and help fund life-saving cancer research.
The start is on grass in North Wall Recreation Ground, near River Park Leisure Centre. The 3k follow the majority of the 5k route, with a shorten signposted on the day.
The course is mainly on grass and tarmac paths around the fields of North Walls Recreation Ground and Winchester Rugby Club. The route does include a small hill incline once partipcants have passed Nuns Walk.
The finish is on grass in North Wall Recreation Ground, near River Park Leisure Centre.
There will not be any water refill stations along the course so if you require water during the event, please remember to bring your own reusable water bottle already filled up. A Scottish Power water refill station will be available to use at the finish.
Please arrive 30 to 45mins before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.

You can take part in any Race for Life event as an individual or a group to raise money for life-saving research. Walk, jog or run together in a group or go solo at your own pace, or lead the way as a Group Leader and get family, friends and colleagues involved! However you choose to take part, you’re helping to beat cancer.
Shake off any pre-Race nerves and get moving with our fun warm-up session just before your event.
Bring along as many supporters as you like to cheer you on! We’ve got things for everyone to do, check out the Location section above to see what’s happening on the day.
After you've completed the course, stay on and celebrate with other participants, friends and family with a picnic in the park.

Blue Badge Parking: Blue Badge parking can be found at River Park Leisure Centre Car Park
Volunteer Parking: Volunteer parking can be found at Hillier Way Car Park. This car park is free of charge and a 5 min walk to the event site.
Drop Offs: Drop off area is located at River Park Leisure Centre Car Park
Public Transport:-
Bus: The nearest bus station is Winchester Bus Station, SO23 9BA, which is a 15-minute walk/ 6-minute taxi ride away.
Train: If travelling by train, the nearest train station is Winchester Train Station which is a 15-minute walk / 6-minute taxi ride away from the event site. Please ask to be dropped at River Park Leisure Centre, SO23 7DD, you can access the venue by walking across the car park to the recreation ground.

We recommend the course is wheelchair accesible but with assistance. Please be mindful that although this course is flat, over 50% is on grass with no path alternative so assistance may be required, especially weather dependant.

A British Sign Language Interpreter will be availble on stage whilst our event host is speaking.
