Our 10k events are now chip-timed, so you can find out if you’ve beaten your personal best – while you’re raising funds to help beat cancer.
10k is just over 6 miles. Take it at your own pace or push yourself a little more. Have fun with it and enjoy the atmosphere.

The start and finish lines are located within Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street. Near to the skatepark off Ropery Lane

Pedestrians: Riverside Park is accessible from Ropery Lane, however be aware of busy A roads close to the site
General Event Parking: Parking will be in designated areas of DCCC Riverside. There will be event parking signs to direct you from the A167 to the correct area

Public Transport:-
Bus: The 78 Country Ranger drops right outside the entrace to Riverside Park
Train: Chester-Le-Street Station is a 20min walk away (the 78 Country Ranger Bus runs from the station)
Electric Charging points: No
Cycling & Bike Racks: No but bike storage can be facilitated for people arriving by bike
The course is accessible with assistance as some parts are on grass and gravel tracks

Bring a water bottle
We’re trying to reduce single-use plastic at Race for Life. Please bring your own reusable water bottle, already filled. We'll provide an ecofriendly water-refill station at the finish that uses as little single-use plastic as possible.
Have the right kit
It’s a good idea to check the weather before your event and dress accordingly. Think breathable sports gear (leggings and shorts are ideal) and well-fitting trainers. For Pretty Muddy, wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.

Be sun smart
Stay sun safe by finding shade when you’re not on the course and covering up with clothes, a hat and sunglasses. On parts you can’t cover, use sunscreen with at least SPF15 and a 4 or 5 star rating. Find out more about being sun smart.
Your back sign and race number
Remember to bring your back sign and Race number which will be sent to you in the post – don’t forget safety pins so you can attach them to you.
