Looking for more of a challenge without any pressure? Race for Life 10k is for you! Our 10k events are now chip-timed, so you can find out if you’ve beaten your personal best – while you’re raising funds to help beat cancer. 10k is just over 6 miles. Take it at your own pace or push yourself a little more. Have fun with it and enjoy the atmosphere.
The start and finish is on grass. The course a mixture of tarmac paths and grass. The 10K route is a double lap of the 5k route.
Our courses are accurately measured with a measuring wheel, which may differ from GPS devices. Please follow the designated route closely to maintain the intended distance; cutting corners will affect your distance covered.
You can take part in any Race for Life event as an individual or a group to raise money for life-saving research. Walk, jog or run together in a group or go solo at your own pace, or lead the way as a Group Leader and get family, friends and colleagues involved! However you choose to take part, you’re helping to beat cancer.
Shake off any pre-Race nerves and get moving with our fun warm-up session just before your event.
Bring along as many supporters as you like to cheer you on! We’ve got things for everyone to do, check out the Location section above to see what’s happening on the day.
After you've completed the course, stay on and celebrate with other participants, friends and family with a picnic in the park.

Event Site: The start and finish areas are both on the same grass field with sand paths surrounding it.
Course: Our recommendation is that this event is accessible for wheelchair users with assistance. The majority of the course is on well maintained paths with a 1km section on grass. If the weather is poor the grass section may become unsuitable. In this instance Course Marshals will advise of an alternative route, this will reduce the distance by approx. 2km.
We aim for maximum accessibility at our events. Our contact centre and on-site team are ready to assist with any needs or questions you may have.
Additional Support request badges are available, and our Event Managers are trained Dementia Friends.
