Life is worth Racing for. Enter Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life and raise money for life-saving cancer research.
At just over 2 miles, 3k is ideal for families or groups having a go at their first Race for Life. It's a fun, achievable event for everyone – and an unforgettable day out. There's no pressure to finish in a certain time. Walk, jog or run or make your way around the course however suits you and help fund life-saving cancer research.
The start and finish are on hardstanding. The course is on hardstanding pavement and roads along the coastline and cycle route of Afon Rheidol.
For 2026 we’re adding a fresh twist by running the historic route in reverse! This iconic road‑closed event begins on the Promenade by the Richmond Hotel, heads towards Constitution Hill, then along Marine Terrace past the castle to the Marina. The 3K course makes a U‑turn at South Beach Car Park, switches onto the Promenade, and heads back to finish in style at the bandstand.

You can take part in any Race for Life event as an individual or a group to raise money for life-saving research. Walk, jog or run together in a group or go solo at your own pace, or lead the way as a Group Leader and get family, friends and colleagues involved! However you choose to take part, you’re helping to beat cancer.
Shake off any pre-Race nerves and get moving with our fun warm-up session just before your event.
Bring along as many supporters as you like to cheer you on! We’ve got things for everyone to do, check out the Location section above to see what’s happening on the day.
After you've completed the course, stay on and celebrate with other participants, friends and family with a picnic in the park.
