About the 5k event
The 5k is an achievable distance and a good first challenge for most people. At just over 3 miles it can take about an hour to walk on average, but there's no pressure to finish in a certain time. Go at your own pace to help fund life-saving cancer research.

The start and finish line is on the grass field next to the main visitor car park, behind the visitor's centre.

Pedestrians: There are very few public transport links to the venue.
General Event Parking: Free parking is available in the main visitor car park of the manor. Please follow Event Day Parking signs and steward directions on the day. The car park is accessible via the main entrance to Waddesdon Manor, off the A41. The car park is approximately 200m-400m from the event site.
Blue Badge Parking: Free disabled parking is available in the main visitor car park of the manor. Please follow Event Day Parking signs and steward directions on the day. The car park is accessible via the main entrance to Waddesdon Manor, off the A41. The car park is approximately 100m from the event site.
Volunteer Parking: Free volunteer parking is available in the main visitor car park of the manor. Please follow Event Day Parking signs and steward directions on the day. The car park is accessible via the main entrance to Waddesdon Manor, off the A41. The car park is approximately 200m-400m from the event site.
Drop Offs: The drop off location is within the main visitor car park of the manor. Please follow Event Day Parking signs and steward directions on the day. The car park is accessible via the main entrance to Waddesdon Manor, off the A41. The drop off location is approximately 100m from the event site.
Public Transport:-
Bus: The Red Rose No. 16 runs from Aylesbury to Marsh Gibbon via Waddesdon. On arrival in Waddesdon village (A41), walk through the main gates on Silk Street and you’ll be directed towards the event site.
Train: The nearest train station is Aylesbury Vale Parkway. Regular trains run from London Marylebone to Aylesbury and Aylesbury Vale Parkway. Your onward journey from the train station can be made by taxi or bus. A section of the Waddesdon Greenway, a safe cycle and walking route joining Aylesbury Vale Parkway to Waddesdon Manor, is currently closed and therefore not suitable to use. Electric Charging points: There are four spaces in the main car park signposted for the purpose of electric vehicle charging. Spaces are suitable for a 16A EV Type 2 charging socket and are free of charge. If you would like to charge your vehicle, please speak to staff at the Welcome Pavilion who will assist you at the start and end of charging.
Cycling & Bike Racks: There are bike racks next to the electric charging points within the main visitor car park for bikes to be stored.
We aim to provide our supporters with as much information as possible so that they can make an informed choice based on their own specific needs.
Event Site: The start and finish areas are both on the same grass field with tarmac paths surrounding it. Course: We would advise that our course is suitable for wheelchairs, mobility aids and pushchairs. The course is majority on tarmac with a very small section on gravel that is suitable for all to move on.
Carers are welcome free of charge.

Bring a water bottle
We’re trying to reduce single-use plastic at Race for Life. Please bring your own reusable water bottle, already filled. We'll provide an ecofriendly water-refill station at the finish that uses as little single-use plastic as possible.
Have the right kit
It’s a good idea to check the weather before your event and dress accordingly. Think breathable sports gear (leggings and shorts are ideal) and well-fitting trainers. For Pretty Muddy, wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.

Be sun smart
Stay sun safe by finding shade when you’re not on the course and covering up with clothes, a hat and sunglasses. On parts you can’t cover, use sunscreen with at least SPF15 and a 4 or 5 star rating. Find out more about being sun smart.
Your back sign and race number
Remember to bring your back sign and Race number which will be sent to you in the post – don’t forget safety pins so you can attach them to you.
