2 x car parks are located off Preston Old Road A674. There is a car park next to the all-weather sports turf facilities/ Pleasington playing fields pavilion and another car park in front of Witton Arena.
Parking charges only apply to the main and astroturf car parks, from 8am to 9pm. The cost is 60p for 2 hours or £1.80 for the whole day. The machines take both coin and card payments (including contactless).
You can find additional parking along Tower Road in the parking bays and this is free. Tower Road car park will be closed. There is 5 min walk from Tower Road to the event site.
Blue badge holders are exempt from the parking charges if a valid blue badge is correctly displayed.
The nearest railway stations to the park are Cherry Tree and Mill Hill, which are both a half mile away. Blackburn railway station is 1 mile away.
Please check back for more information on electric charging points and bike racks.
The event site is on grass and is a 3 minute walk from the nearest car park (venue car park). The course is predominantly on grass which can become boggy in wet conditions with some sections using pre-existing paths. We would advise that this event is wheelchair accessible but with assistance. The course is mainly flat but there are sections of the course that are slightly uphill. It also narrows in some sections due to access gates and the two way traffic of participants.
If you require any further information on the accessibility of a Race for Life event or wish to bring a carer/assistant to accompany you or if you need to bring a guide runner, please contact our Supporter Hotline on 0300 123 0770 and press 1 when prompted (Opening hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday) or email us at raceforlife@cancer.org.uk .
Bring a water bottle
We’re trying to reduce single-use plastic at Race for Life. Please bring your own reusable water bottle, already filled. We'll provide an ecofriendly water-refill station at the finish that uses as little single-use plastic as possible.
Have the right kit
It’s a good idea to check the weather before your event and dress accordingly. Think breathable sports gear (leggings and shorts are ideal) and well-fitting trainers. For Pretty Muddy, wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.
Check out the latest range of Race for Life clothing and accessories in our online shop.
Be sun smart
Stay sun safe by finding shade when you’re not on the course and covering up with clothes, a hat and sunglasses. On parts you can’t cover, use sunscreen with at least SPF15 and a 4 or 5 star rating. Find out more about being sun smart.
Your back sign and race number
Remember to bring your back sign and Race number which will be sent to you in the post – don’t forget safety pins so you can attach them to you.
