The 5k route is a single lap that takes in the hugely famous Aintree Racecourse. The terrain is a mixture of soft sand, grass, gravelled and tarmacked pathways. It's a great venue, and a fantastic chance to see the Racecourse up close.
Please be aware, due to the time of year the ground conditions may deteriorate in bad weather.
Please arrive 15 to 20minis before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time
Please remember to bring your own water bottle already filled as there will be no bottled water provided at events. ScottishPower water refill stations will be available to use.
The meeting point and start line is located within the racecourse infront of the stands. The finish line is in a similar vicinity.

The nearest train station is Aintree train station which is just outside the venue, less than a 5 minute walk away.
We would advise that our 5k course may be unsuitable for wheelchairs, mobilty aids, and pushchairs due to the soft sand, grass and uneven surfaces throughout the course. The event site is mainly on grass with a tarmac path surrounding it.
If spectating, the event site is mainly on grass so those with mobility issues may require assistance on the uneven surfaces. Please be aware the ground conditions may deteriorate quickly in bad weather.
Car Parking - The car park located at the venue has disabled parking available – please speak to a car park steward upon arrival who will assist you with this.
We are delighted to welcome spectators to Race for Life so please do bring your family and friends along to cheer you on and support you on the day.
Please bring a filled water bottle with you to your event as we're proactively managing our impact on the environment. We will be removing single use plastic bottles.
