The Watford route is largely flat and is set in the beautiful, family friendly Cassiobury Park. The route enjoys tree-lined paths and grass avenues with a mixture of terrains. There will be no water available on the 5k route, other than at the finish, so please bring your own bottle if you feel you will need it.

Meeting point

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day.  Additional start times may become available as and when needed.

The start line is in the main open field near the paddling pools.

The town centre car parks and Watford underground station are just a short walk away from the park. Buses such as 320, 321 and W1 serve Watford town centre.

The Cassiobury Park car park is closed all day and there tends to be a lot of congestion in the surrounding roads. Plan your journey in advance and give yourself plenty of time to make sure you arrive an hour before the start time.

This course has challenging terrain with undulating grass paths and some wooded areas with exposed tree roots. It is mainly flat however, there is a large incline at the end of the course in the area between Cassiobury Park car park and Daisy's café. We advise that this non wheelchair accessible but if you do want to take part, we would strongly recommend that you have assistance.  Please make a self-assessment on your ability to take on this course, as it is one of our more challenging routes.

Supporter / spectator access

Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run around the course!

Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19.  We will update on this nearer the time.
