Course information

Please remember to bring your own water bottle already filled as there will be no bottled water provided at events. ScottishPower water refill stations will be available to use.

The Gloucester 5K route starts in Gloucester Park before heading towards the docks along Spa Rd. Turning into the docks from Commercial Road, the route loops around the Historic Docks crossing Llanthony Bridge and Gloucester Lock. The route then heads to the Cathedral before returning to Gloucester Park through the city centre, re-entering the park via Spa Road.

The roads are closed for the route which is flat with a combination of grass, roads and pathways.

We kindly ask that you be respectful of other land users in areas such as the Docks and the bridges when passing through.

Please arrive 30 to 45mins before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.

There are plenty of car parks around the city centre but we advise you to use Gloucester Quays as a car park for this event as there are road closures which restrict the access of car parks within the city centre.

Please be aware there will be road closures in place from 8am so make sure you leave time to access the area.

The nearest train station is in the city centre and is a 10 minute walk from Gloucester Park.

Dogs allowed
Suitable for pushchairs
Wheelchair accessible
Toilets
No bag drop
Refreshments
No showers
No parking

This event is suitable for wheelchair users but with assistance, due to the grass in the start/finish area.

It's worth noting that the grass may become boggy in poor weather conditions. If this were to be case, users would be able to miss the start and finish areas and still be able to access the rest of the course.

Please be aware that there is no blue badge parking at Gloucester Park. There are blue badge spaces in Gloucester Quays car park (Southgate Street) which is approximately 600m from the start/finish.

If you require any further information on the accessibility of a Race for Life event, or wish to bring a carer/helper to accompany you, please contact our Supporter Hotline on 0300 123 0770 and press 1 when prompted (Opening hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday) or email us at raceforlife@cancer.org.uk

We will be giving away bottled water at the finish line. But due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and our plans to reduce single use plastics at our events we encourage participants to bring their own water or hydration fluids on the day.
