Race for Life Pretty Muddy is our brilliant 5k muddy obstacle course. Scramble over the A-frame. Crawl through the mud pit. Have fun with your friends. And raise valuable funds for life-saving research.

Course information

The Basildon route starts and finishes on the football pitches behind Basildon Sporting Village and is fully contained within Gloucester Park. The route is on grass and paths and is mostly flat with a few hilly sections.

Please arrive 15 to 20 minutes before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.

There will not be any water refill stations along the course so if you require water during the event, please remember to bring your own reusable water bottle already filled up. You will be able to refill this at the refill station when you finish.

Meeting point

The start line is on the football pitches behind the Sporting Village.

There will be some FOC event car parking at Gloucester Park, SS14 3GR. This is limited but Gloucester Park is a short walk from the Town Centre so the Town Centre car parks are also an option. We ask that participants refrain from parking in the retail parks to avoid congestion in this area. The cllosest train station is Basildon which is 2 miles away. First Bus also operate a service to Gloucester Park – see timetables at www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/

Designated cycle parking - There are 15 cycle spaces located at the front of the Basildon Sports Village building.

Due to the nature of this event, it is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Blue badge parking is available within Basildon Sporting Village Car Park, SS14 3GR (please note that this is separate from the designated participant/ spectator parking area) or alternatively, you can get dropped off next to the event site before parking up in Gloucester Park.

Supporter / spectator access

We are delighted to welcome spectators to Race for Life so please do bring your family and friends along to cheer you on and support you on the day.

Please bring a filled water bottle with you to your event as we're proactively managing our impact on the environment. We will be removing single-use plastic bottles.
