The 5k route takes in the lovely grounds and woodland of Graves Park. The route is hilly in places, and is on a mixture of grass, paths and woodland tracks.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.
The meeting point and start line is the large field across from Graves Park Pavillion. This is clearly visible from the Cobnar Road entrance and to the right of the designated event parking.
Event parking (including disabled parking) will be available on the grass field by the Graves Park Pavilion just at the end of Hemsworth Road/Derbyshire Lane. Please ensure you arrive via Hemsworth Road and turn onto Cobnar Road to enter by the Pavilion, as the west side of Cobnar Road will bring you to a dead end.
Please note the venue and surrounding roads may get busy on the day so please consider car sharing where possible and arrive in plenty of time to get parked up and walk to the main site.
Graves Park is also accessible via public transport. Several buses run along Hemsworth Road (closest to the event site), Chesterfield Road (A61) and Norton Lane, all of which have access into the park.
We would not recommend this course for wheelchair or pushchair users as the route is hilly and includes some grassy and boggy woodland areas.
Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run round the course!
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
