About the 5k event

The original and most popular Race for Life event, the 5k is an entry-level distance and an achievable first challenge for most. At just over 3 miles it can take about an hour to complete on average, but there's no pressure to finish in a certain time. Walk, jog, run or make your way around the course however suits you to fund life-saving research.
On the day

While your entry fee covers the cost of your event, it's the money you raise that will fund vital research and see more people surviving cancer.

Free event car parking is on the grass adjacent to the event site, just off Coronation Drive. Please note that the car park will close 15 minutes before the start of the event and will re-open once the last participant has passed the entrance at approximately 12:30pm. Car parking is limited and we advise to car share or take public transport where possible.
We recommend this event is suitable for wheelchair users with assistance due to some narrow pinch points along the promenade path and the uneven grass at the start and end of the course. The event site, start and end of the course is on uneven grass which could make conditions difficult in bad weather.
