About the 10k event
On the day
You fundraise, we discover
"I would like to do whatever I can to raise cancer awareness"
While your entry fee covers the cost of your event, it's the money you raise that will fund vital research and see more people surviving cancer.
The meeting point and start line is in the centre of the park between the Tram Museum and Boating Lake. The finish line will also be within the similar vacinity.
If using what3words, enter ///dare.puff.spun in the free app, to find the exact starting point.
Please remember to bring your own water bottle already filled as there will be no bottled water provided at events.
Event Parking is available at Heaton Park, including Disabled parking spaces at the Lake Car Park at the Sheepfoot Lane entrance.
Manchester City Council operate a Pay & Display system in all car parks that will still be operational on the day so please ensure you arrive within plenty of time to purchase a ticket. Charges are hourly or £3 all day. Card payment and Pay by Phone options are available.
The nearest metro station is Heaton Park. Trams run regularly from the City Centre and other destinations. There is a gate into the park directly opposite the station.
There are several bus routes which stop at Heaton Park.
If you require any further information on the accessibility of a Race for Life event, or wish to bring a carer/helper to accompany you, please contact our Supporter Hotline on 0300 123 0770 and press 1 when prompted (Opening hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday) or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We would recommend that this event is wheelchair accessible with assistance.
The course is undulating throughout with three inclines on paths which you will go up twice. The route is mainly on flat tarmac paths, with some grassed areas and a short wooded section. The event site is on grass with surrounding paths to and from the car park so assistance would be recommended.
Please also be aware that the grass may become boggy in poor weather conditions.
Disabled parking is available at the venue in the car parks on site, with the Lake Car Park at the Sheepfoot Lane entrance being the closest so site.
Bring a water bottle
We want to make Race for Life as sustainable as possible by reducing our single use plastic consumption, so please bring your own reusable water bottle, already filled. We'll provide a water-refill solution that is cost-effective for the charity and environmentally-friendly.
