Course information

The Chelmsford route is a cross country, undulating course, fully contained within the beautiful grounds of Hylands Park. The terrain is largely flat, on grass with some slight inclines.  The 10k is likely to be a two laps of the 5k course with an additional small loop, but as this is estate land, the course is subject to change depending on the weather conditions in the lead up to the event.

Please arrive 30 to 45mins before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.

Please remember to bring your own water bottle already filled as there will be no bottled water provided at events. ScottishPower water refill stations will be available to use.

Meeting point

The start line is on the open grass area behind Flint Cottage.

There is free parking available at the venue. There will also be a designated drop-off zone inside the park, managed by stewards. Please do not try to enter the park via the main entrance for Hylands House off of Three Mile Hill. We ask that those driving to the venue follow the AA signage. 

First Bus service 351 stops outside Hylands Park.

Designated Cycle Parking - There are approximately 20 cycle spaces in the main car park (Writtle end) and there are also a few cycle spaces by the visitor centre.

The car parks, event site and route are all on grass. Due to the challenging terrain at this country park venue, this event is not suitable for wheelchair users.

We are delighted to welcome spectators to Race for Life so please do bring your family and friends along to cheer you on and support you on the day.

We will have a merchandise stand at this event selling assorted Race for Life items and clothing, and our lovely Race for Life gerberas.
