Please remember to bring your own water bottle already filled as there will be no bottled water provided at events. ScottishPower water refill stations will be available to use.

The Bath Race for Life 10k route starts on Royal Victoria Park. It follows Royal Avenue all the way down to Queens Parade Place where participants will turn around and head back along Royal Avenue. The route goes onto the grass area in front of the Royal Crescent and then down onto Cow Lane, before following Royal Avenue back to the finish line.

The 10k course is two laps of the 5k route.

The terrain is varied but mostly on paved paths with some grass areas and a some mild incline area's along some sections of the route. 

Please arrive 30 to 45mins before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.

The start line is on Royal Victoria Park in the middle of Royal Avenue.

There is No designated car park for thie event. We advise using local city centre parks or Bath Park & Ride services for the event.

Road closures

Road closures and car parking suspension will be in place for the event. Car parking will be suspended on Royal Avenue from 7pm on Saturday and all day Sunday so it will be clear and safe for the event route.                                    

The Following road clusres will be in place on the event day.                                                                                                                        

Royal Avenue - from its junction with Queens Parade Place to its junction with Marlborough Buildings/Marlborough Lane. Between 19:30 hours on Saturday and 14:00 hours on Sunday.

Marlborough Lane - From its junction with Upper Bristol Road to its junction with Royal Avenue/Marlborough Buildings.

Marlborough Buildings - From its junction with Weston Road to its junction with Royal Avenue/Marlborough Lane - access to residents and businesses only.

Cow Lane – From its junction with Marlborough Buildings to its junction Royal Victoria Park.  Please see advance warning signs around the park and diversions on the day.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

Bath Clean Air Zone                                                                                                  

Please check whether your vehicle will be charged in Bath's Clean Air Zone and pay the charge at www.gov.uk/check-clean-air-zone-charge. All you need is your vehicle registration number.

The majority of the route is on tarmac roads and pathways. However, there is a reasonably steep short hill section on Cow Lane next to the allotments and a gentle incline around Royal Victoria Park so wheelchair users may require assistance. Disabled/ accessibility parking available in Charlotte Street Car Park, Bath. There is no allocated drop of point for the event but we would suggest the Weston Road side of Royal Victoria Park to avoid the event road closures.

Supporter / spectator access

We’re working with Wessex Water to provide a sustainable water solution at this event – they’re on a mission to keep everyone in the region hydrated, feeling great and eliminate the use of single-use plastics. Please note there will not be bottled water available at the finish line so please bring your own refillable bottle and top up for free from the Wessex Water refill points which will be situated in the main event area.
