The Darlington route is a 5k loop of the beautiful South Park. The route begins by following the River Skerne, before crossing Parkside into the Meadows and then coming back into South Park by Squirrel Hill, the bandstand and the bowling green.
The meeting point is the open grass area of South Park, in front of the pond. The entrance to the park on Parkside, next to the Lakeside Lodge provides easiest access to the start line.
There is no parking available at South Park. Please use public transport, walk or cycle to the event. Darlington train station is a 15 minute walk from South Park and there are a number of bus services to the park. The Traveline North East website can help you plan your journey.
This event is suitable for wheelchair users to take part in with assistance. Disabled parking is available at the Bedford Street entrance to South Park, follow direction of stewards who will be there to assist you.
Don’t forget to bring your friends and family along to support you. There are many points around South Park, within walking distance from the start and finish lines, that they will be able to see you run past to cheer you on.
