The Portsmouth 5k Race for Life route is a flat route running around the beautiful Southsea Common, taking in views of Ladies Mile and Southsea Seafront.
The start line is on Southsea Common on the adjacent field to Clarence Esplanade.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as and when needed.
Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your start time.
Please use city centre car parks for the event. There is no event parking on site.
Although parking has previously been available for this event on Southsea Common, unfortunately, this is no longer the case. Please use City Centre Car Parks or the Park and Ride service. Please click the link for Park & Ride information http://parkandride.portsmouth.gov.uk/whatson.shtml
The route is mainly on flat tarmac roads and paths but there is a large section of the course on Southsea Common itself, the grass is cut and flat but may be harder to navigate in wet weather.
This event is suitable for wheelchairs users and pushchairs with assistance.
Disabled/ accessible parking can be found in most nearby car parks. Details can be found here: https://www.portsmouth.gov.uk/services/parking-roads-and-travel/parking/car-parks/
There are no allocated drop off points for the event but please be aware that Avenue de Caen will be closed as part of the route.

Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
We will be giving away bottled water at the finish line. But due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and our plans to reduce single use plastics at our events we encourage participants to bring their own water or hydration fluids on the day.
