Everyone has a reason to Race for Life. Enter now and raise money for life-saving research. Together we will beat cancer.
About the 5k event

The original and most popular Race for Life event, the 5k is an entry-level distance and an achievable first challenge for most. At just over 3 miles it can take about an hour to complete on average, but there's no pressure to finish in a certain time. Walk, jog, run or make your way around the course however suits you to fund life-saving research.
On the day

While your entry fee covers the cost of your event, it's the money you raise that will fund vital research and see more people surviving cancer.

There is no parking at the event on The Common. Please use public transport where possible or city centre car parks.
Southampton Central train station is a 30 minute walk away or St Denys train station is a 25 minute walk away.
The Southampton course is mainly on tarmac paths or roads around The Common. The total ascent is 30m with a slow incline around 2k. Due to these elements we deem the route as suitable for wheelchair users with assistance.
There is no allocated drop off points but all roads around The Common are accessible during the event. Only Cemetry Road is closed including the car park there.
If you require any further information on the accessibility of a Race for Life event, or wish to bring a carer/helper to accompany you, please contact our Supporter Hotline on 0300 123 0770 and press 1 when prompted (Opening hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday) or email us at raceforlife@cancer.org.uk
