The Bristol route is a 2 lap course which mostly follows the perimeter of The Downs. It is a fairly flat course with a mixed terrain which takes in amazing views of the Gorge and Suspension Bridge. There are lots of cheering points along the way and the whole event has a fantastic atmosphere which you'll really enjoy.
The start line is opposite the water just off Stoke Road and Ladies Mile. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we’ll be operating a staggered start time in 2021 to ensure your safety on event day. Additional start times may become available as/when needed.
Park & Ride
We hope to have a Park and Ride service in operation from Long Ashton Park and Ride car park in Bristol. This is situated just off the A370, please use the postcode BS3 2HB for your SatNav. Buses will run every 7-8 mins from the Park and Ride to the event on The Downs between 08:30 and 15:30. Full details will be confirmed nearer the time.
Tickets are only £3.00 for a return journey and children under 16 travel free of charge. There are also options to purchase a day ticket and link up to the other bus networks on the day. Tickets are purchased on the bus on the day.
Parking on The Downs is not permitted. If you arrive early you may find spaces on the surrounding roads but be aware that road closures are in place on Stoke Road, Ladies Mile, Circular and Fountain Road for the event. Stewards will be there on the day to direct you. Please note there is limited disabled parking on Stoke Road.
Please utilise public transport: Clifton train station is a 10 minute walk from the venue which links to the main train station Temple Meads. Buses run up to The Downs from the town centre. Please go to firstgroup.com for timetables.
The majority of the route is on grass on The Downs, with a slight incline from the Sea Wall up to Stoke Road making the route wheelchair accessible with assistance.
Inviting your friends and family to support you on the day is a great idea, they can share in the joy with you as you cross the finish line and ring the bell. They can also help you with those important things, like holding your belongings whilst you walk, jog or run round the course!
Please note, whilst we hope we can open our events to families and friends supporting on the day, this may not be possible due to government guidelines around COVID-19. We will update on this nearer the time.
