Course information

Please arrive 30 to 45 minutes before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.

The 10k course is a single lap route taking in both The Knavesmire and the perimeter track of The Racecourse, leaving the race course and running out and back up Racecourse Road. The terrain is a mixture of grass and tarmac pathways. Due to the course being partly on grass, it may be slightly muddy underfoot depending on recent weather conditions and can include uneven surfaces.

Please bring a reusable water bottle with you if you require water during the event.

Please remember to bring your own water bottle already filled as there will be no bottled water provided at events. ScottishPower water refill stations will be available to use.

The meeting point and start line is on The Knavesmire, nearby The Racecourse. The finish line will also be within the similar vacinity.

If you require any further information on the accessibility of a Race for Life event, or wish to bring a carer/helper to accompany you, please contact our Supporter Hotline on 0300 123 0770 and press 1 when prompted (Opening hours are 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday) or email us at raceforlife@cancer.org.uk

We would recommend that this event is wheelchair accessible with assistance. The course and event site is mainly on grass with some paths follwing the racecourse track. The route is flat but the grass sections can be slightly uneven in places. Due to the time of year the event is taking place, the grass may become boggy in poor weather conditions.

The venue is accessible from most entrances with disabled parking available at event car park on The Knavesmire.

Supporter / spectator access

Please bring a filled water bottle with you to your event as we're proactively managing our impact on the environment. We will be removing single-use plastic bottles.
