Race for Life Pretty Muddy Kids is our brilliant muddy obstacle course just for the little ones. They can take on the obstacles, crawl through the mud pit and have fun with friends, all the while helping raise valuable funds for life-saving research.

Please note, all children taking part must be at least 1.2m tall on day of event.

Meeting point

The start line is on the field that runs parallel to Lawefield Lane. If using the Horbury Road entrance then it is the first field on the left after the car park and child’s play area.

Car parking is not available at this event; please use local car parks or public transport. More details can be found at https://www.wymetro.com/plan-a-journey/

Please car share where possible and allow extra time for your journey as the roads around the venue can become congested.

Disabled parking is available on site, please show your blue badge to the steward at the entrance for access.


Course information

The Wakefield Pretty Muddy route takes a scenic single-lap through Thornes Park. The route is undulating in parts and the terrain is a mix of roads, woodland footpaths and grass. This is a great course for pretty muddy!

All of our Pretty Muddy Kids events are approximately 5km. Adults accompanying children will run alongside the course but will not be allowed to take part on the obstacles.

There are lots of spectator viewing points at this event for your friends and family to watch you on route as you clamber up and over the obstacles
