Venue: University of Stirling, Gannochy Sports Centre, Stirling, FK9 4LA View map
The Stirling double-lap route is situated within the grounds of the University of Stirling. You will enjoy the picturesque landscape and a mixture of terrain including grass, pathways and several small grass hills when approaching the golf course. You will pass the beautiful Airthey Loch, take in the view of the Wallace Monument and return towards the athletics track to finish.
The meeting point is behind the Gannachy Sports Centre. Please arrive 1 hour before the start time of your race.
Parking is available within the campus car parks. Please follow the signs and directions from the stewards on the day. If travelling by public transport, Stirling train station is about a 40 minute walk away, or Bridge of Allan train station is around a 25 minute walk away. The number 62 bus runs hourly and will take you through the university grounds.
Unfortunately this event is not suitable for wheelchair users due to a large section of the course utilising the golf course grass. The course can be adapted by continuing on the path around the loch and not turning onto the golf course. Do note that this will reduce the route to just over 3.5K / 7K. Please approach the blue admin tent on event day to discuss this adjustment further.
Don’t forget to bring along your friends and family for support and also to enjoy the various stalls that will be providing entertainment and refreshments.
