Course information

Please arrive 30 to 45 minutes before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.

The route starts and finishes in the very centre of Victoria Park. The 10k course is a double lap route that is almost completely flat. The route takes participants around the football and rugby pitches within the park and then on to the national towpath that surrounds the park. Upon returning along the towpath, the course turns left on to the paths within the park. The route cuts back onto the main field with about 1km to go before looping back around to the finish line for the first time. The 10k participants will split from the course just before the finish line and go onto their second and final lap.

Although the course is flat and smooth, more than half of the route is on grass with soft ground and wet weather would make the use of a wheelchair or pushchair difficult. Please read the course information section for more details on the route. We would recommed that you make a decison based on your own ability if the course is suitable for you. Our official recommendation is that the event is not suitable for wheelchair users,

It’s a good idea to check the weather before your event and dress accordingly. Think breathable sports gear (leggings and shorts are ideal) and well-fitting trainers. For Pretty Muddy, wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.

Be sun smart
Stay sun safe by finding shade when you’re not on the course and covering up with clothes, a hat and sunglasses. On parts you can’t cover, use sunscreen with at least SPF15 and a 4 or 5 star rating. Find out more about being sun smart.
