About the 5k event
The 5k is an achievable distance and a good first challenge for most people. At just over 3 miles it can take about an hour to walk on average, but there's no pressure to finish in a certain time. Go at your own pace to help fund life-saving cancer research.

Event details
The main event area will be on the large field opposite the astro turf and tennis courts.

There will be strictly no event parking at West Glebe Park, and no vehicles will be permitted entry on the day of the event.
Participant car parking is being provided at the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Management House, Cottingham Road, Corby, NN17 1TT, and at Corby Technical School, Cottingham Road, Corby, Northamptonshire, NN17 1TD. These will be free of charge and on a first come first served basis.
If the car park is full please use town centre car parks and allow 10-15 minutes to walk to the park.

Paid for Car Parks:
Parkland Gateway Car Park - accessed from Westcott Way (Postcode: NN17 1QB) is a 10 minute walk from West Glebe Park.
Victoria Place Car Park - accessed off George Street (Postcode: NN17 1QB) is a 7 minute walk from West Glebe Park.
Free Car Parks:
There are free of charge car parks at Dovedale Road and Chapel Lane, each being between 10 and 15 minutes walk from West Glebe Park.
Train and Bus:
Corby Train Station, Station Road (Postcode: NN17 1UJ) is a 12 minute walk from West Glebe Park.
Alternatively, you can follow bus routes to the roads surrounding the park: 2, 2B, 5C and X4.
Unfortunately this event is not deemed suitable for wheelchair users. The course is all on grass which can become boggy due to poor weather. Throughout the park there are numerous small hills with steep inclines and declines.

Bring a water bottle
We’re trying to reduce single-use plastic at Race for Life. Please bring your own reusable water bottle, already filled. We'll provide an ecofriendly water-refill station at the finish that uses as little single-use plastic as possible.
Have the right kit
It’s a good idea to check the weather before your event and dress accordingly. Think breathable sports gear (leggings and shorts are ideal) and well-fitting trainers. For Pretty Muddy, wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.

Be sun smart
Stay sun safe by finding shade when you’re not on the course and covering up with clothes, a hat and sunglasses. On parts you can’t cover, use sunscreen with at least SPF15 and a 4 or 5 star rating. Find out more about being sun smart.
Your back sign and race number
Remember to bring your back sign and Race number which will be sent to you in the post – don’t forget safety pins so you can attach them to you.
