Course information

This course travels around the scenic and lively Willen Lake pathways, remaining on the pathway for the majority of the course with some sections on grass. There is plenty of variety and beautiful views of the lake around the course. The 10K route is a double lap of the 5K route and is mainly flat with a few manageable inclines and declines.

Please remember to bring your own water bottle already filled as there will be no bottled water provided at events. ScottishPower water refill stations will be available to use.

Please arrive 30 to 45mins before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.

The start and finish area is on the grass alongside the south lake, between the splash park, One4Six cafe and Premier Inn.

Parking is available in the Willen Lakes car parks. Please follow yellow event signage and the parking stewards will direct you to the correct car park. Please note normal pay and display charges apply. 

Please car share where possible and consider using public transport.

The route is mostly flat and on paths, so is suitable for wheelchair users with assistance. There is also a grass path on the far side of the south lake which can be bypassed using the lakeside tarmac path.  The start and finish area is on grass which could get boggy in the case of wet weather however there are tarmac paths surrounding it. There is blue badge parking in the Willen Lake car park which is no more than 100m from the start and finish.

We are delighted to welcome spectators to Race for Life so please do bring your family and friends along to cheer you on and support you on the day.

Please bring a filled water bottle with you to your event as we're proactively managing our impact on the environment. We will be removing single-use plastic bottles.
