Race for Life, Bowelbabe Fund & Standard Life – Kickstart Donation terms

By entering this promotion (the “Promotion”) entrants agree to be bound by the terms and conditions below (“Terms and Conditions”).  

  1. The Promotion is open to UK residents aged 16 or over, except employees of the Promoter and its subsidiary companies together with their immediate family members and/or personal partners.  

  1. The Promoter reserves the right to request evidence of eligibility, including the identity and age of any entrant. If you are under the age of 18, please obtain consent from your parent/guardian for your participation. 

  1. Subject to these terms and conditions: 

  • sign up to enter Race for Life 2023 selecting the option to raise funds for The Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK on or after 0:00am Tuesday 9 May 2023; and,  

  • set up a fundraising page via the Cancer Research UK Online Fundraising platform for the same within the Entry Period, will be automatically entered into the Promotion by computer process.  Please email racepartnerships@cancer.org.uk if you do not wish to participate in the Promotion.  

  1. The Promotion shall run until Cancer Research UK determines 1,000 entries have been received, following which it shall announce the same and remove these terms from this website. 

  2. The Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK is a restricted fund within Cancer Research UK. Cancer Research UK is a registered charity in England and Wales (1089464), Scotland (SC041666), the Isle of Man (1103) and Jersey (247) and is registered with the Fundraising Regulator 

  3. The first 1,000 entrants into the Promotion from 0:00am Tuesday 9 May 2023, determined by computer process (each a ‘winner’), shall each have credited to their Cancer Research UK Online Fundraising page £10 to account for a contribution towards the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK as a restricted fund within Cancer Research UK, raising money to fund clinical trials, research and cancer information and awareness, as well as other initiatives to combat cancer and support those affected by cancer. The £10 shall be credited to the winner’s fundraising page within 30 days of their signing up to enter and setting up that fundraising page.   

  4. The £10 credited to a winner’s Cancer Research UK Online Fundraising will be allocated from a previous donation provided via Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life partner Standard Life, part of the Phoenix Group, which Cancer Research UK will apply towards the Bowelbabe Fund.  For the avoidance of doubt the underlying donation has been given wholly to Cancer Research UK, and no winner shall be entitled to receipt, refund or exchange of the £10 credited to their account, or any claim in respect of the same. 

  5. The £10 credited to the winner’s Cancer Research UK Online Fundraising page shall be displayed publicly as a contribution to each winner’s fundraising page by Standard Life on that page.  The £10 credited is non-transferable and the value is non-negotiable. 

  6. Entry is limited to one per person, according to their entry into Race for Life and fundraising page set up. Entries must be made directly by the person entering the Promotion. Third party, bulk and/or automated applications shall not be accepted. 

  7. Those who sign up to enter Race for Life 2023 without selecting the option to raise funds for the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK at the point of entry, will not be entered. 

  8. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for incorrect or incomplete personal details provided by an entrant, or for any damage or loss resulting from entry into the Promotion. The Promoter shall also not be liable for issues of any kind which may prevent, restrict or delay the sending or receipt of an entry, including (but not limited to) technical faults such as network, computer, hardware or software failures. Late, damaged, illegible or corrupt entries, or those not complying with these Terms and Conditions, will not be valid. Proof of posting or transmission is not proof of receipt by the Promoter. 

  9. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entrants if it reasonably believes there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions or an entrant’s conduct is contrary to these Terms and Conditions or any other terms applicable to their entry into Race for Life, and in these circumstances the Promoter also reserves the right to remove the £10 credited to the entrant’s Cancer Research UK Online Fundraising page. 

  10. The Promoter reserves the right to (i) cancel or suspend the Promotion; (ii) cancel or refuse any individual’s entry and (iii) amend these Terms and Conditions (and will use reasonable endeavours to notify changes to entrants and potential entrants).  

  11. Any personal data received from entrants will only be used and/or shared with third parties where necessary for the proper purposes of the Promotion and in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Statement at http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/terms-and-conditions/privacy-statement

  12. The entrants acknowledge that the Promoter may request their consent to participate in promotional activity and material relating to the Promotion. However, for the avoidance of doubt neither entry into the Promotion nor the likelihood of the entrant being the prize winner are conditional upon consent being given.  

  13. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with English law and entrants agree to irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in respect of any dispute arising out of or in connection with them.
