Race for Life Pretty Muddy Kids is our brilliant muddy obstacle course just for the little ones. They can take on the obstacles, crawl through the mud pit and have fun with friends, all the while helping raise valuable funds for life-saving research.
Please note, all children taking part must be at least 1.2m tall on day of event.

The start line is situated in the field directly in front of Temple Newsam House, adjacent to the Courtyard and Animal Farm

Parking (including dedicated blue badge spaces) are available within Temple Newsam on event day though must be accessed via Temple Newsam Road due to Elm Walk being closed to all vehicles.
Motorists are also able to drop off passengers near the roundabout at the end of Temple Newsam Road which will be monitored by a steward.
Various bus services drop-off along Temple Newsam Road, (please enquire with your local provider) and Leeds Train Station is 4 miles from the venue.

Our 5k Pretty Muddy event offers a single lap route around the landscaped grounds of Temple Newsam, starting and finishing in front of the impressive Tudor-Jacobean mansion. The terrain is predominantly path and grass with some small sections of flagstone paths which can be uneven in places. It is generally flat with a small uphill section at the beginning.
There are a mixture of obstacles along the way to climb over and under, crawl through and slide down. These are designed to be suitable for kids of all levels of fitness and experience but they can conquer as many or as little as they feel comfortable with. Adults accompanying children can run alongside the course but will not be allowed to take part in the obstacles for health and safety reasons.
Remember to bring a towel and change of clothes for the way home!
There will not be any water refill stations along the course so if you require water during the event, please remember to bring your own reusable water bottle&
Taking Part: Pretty Muddy could be considered unsuitable for participants with a physical disability due to the nature of the obstacles.

We are pleased to offer a 3K,5K and 10K Race for Life at the venue on the same weekend, these events may be more suited to participants with a physical disability
