Our 5k Pretty Muddy event offers a single lap route around the landscaped grounds of Temple Newsam, starting and finishing in front of the impressive Tudor-Jacobean mansion. The terrain is predominantly path and grass with some small sections of flagstone paths which can be uneven in places. It is generally flat with a small uphill section at the beginning.

There are a mixture of obstacles along the way to climb over and under, crawl through and slide down. These are designed to be suitable for kids of all levels of fitness and experience but they can conquer as many or as little as they feel comfortable with. Adults accompanying children can run alongside the course but will not be allowed to take part in the obstacles for health and safety reasons.
