About Pretty Muddy

Pretty Muddy Kids in a pink circle icon
Pretty Muddy® Kids is a muddy obstacle course for children aged 6-12 (over 1.2m tall), held on the same day as our Pretty Muddy® events. The young fundraisers will climb, crawl and slide their way around the course at their own pace, accompanied by an adult who will run alongside them. The course is approximately 5k which is just over 3 miles, and there's no pressure to finish in a certain time.

Course information

The Wakefield Pretty Muddy Kids 5k course is a single lap route mostly on grass. The route starts and finishes in the Thornes Park playing fields and then goes around the field next to the skatepark, next it goes into the rugby field, down to the aviary and then back uphill to the former college site. From the former college site, the route crosses the top of the hill on grass and comes down a steep hill on grass, before heading around the amphitheatre. The route is undulating in parts and includes inclines and declines.

There will not be any water refill stations along the course so if you require water during the event, please remember to bring your own reusable water bottle already filled up. You will be able to refill this at the refill station when you finish.

Please arrive 15 to 20 mins before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.

Our courses have been measured with a measuring wheel. This is the most accurate measurement method and may n
