Course information

The Middlesbrough route is a loop of the beautiful Stewart Park. The start is on the main field in between the main car park and the lower lake.

The 5km route has been designed to take in all the attractions the park has to offer. You will pass all the lakes within the park, the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum, the animal enclosures, and the memorial gardens.

Please arrive 30 to 45 minutes before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time.

Meeting point

The event site containing the start and finish line is in the main field between the car park and the lower lake in Stewart Park.

There is limited space for cars on the Stewart Park site, and we encourage all participants to car share or use public transport.

The number 63 bus goes past the entrance to the park and runs every 10 minutes from both Middlesbrough and Redcar directions.

The nearest train station is Marton train station you can plan your journey using the Traveline North East website.

The route is predominantly flat and on smooth paved surfaces. However, the start and finish areas are on grass which may need assistance in wet weather.

We are delighted to welcome spectators to Race for Life so please do bring your family and friends along to cheer you on and support you on the day.

Please bring a filled water bottle with you to your event as we're proactively managing our impact on the environment. We will be removing single use plastic bottles.
