About the 10k event
Looking for more of a challenge without any pressure? Race for Life 10k is for you!
Our 10k events are now chip-timed, so you can find out if you’ve beaten your personal best – while you’re raising funds to help beat cancer.
10k is just over 6 miles. Take it at your own pace or push yourself a little more. Have fun with it and enjoy the atmosphere.

By car:

Public transport and pedestrians:
Pedestrians: The event is not easily accessible on foot.
Bus: There are a number of routes that stop outside Jesus Green. The following buses will stop here: Bus:1, 11, 13, 4, 75, 5,PR2 and X3
Train: Cambridge Train Station is a 10minuite drive from Jesus Green.
Cycling & Bike Racks: There are a number of cycle racks in the city centre.
We aim to provide our supporters with as much information as possible so that they can make an informed choice based on their own specific needs.
Event Site: The start and finish areas are both on the same grass area and the first park of the course is on grass.
This course is a mixture of paved pathways, cobbled streets and grassy terrain. The first and last 1km of the course is on grass and there is a grass section in Stourbridge Common which can be challenging.
We advise that this is wheelchair accessible with assistance due to the course terrain.
We aim for maximum accessibility at our events. Our contact centre and on-site team are ready to assist with any needs or questions you may have.
Additional Support request badges are available, and our Event Managers are trained Dementia Friends.
Bring a water bottle
We’re trying to reduce single-use plastic at Race for Life. Please bring your own reusable water bottle, already filled. We'll provide an ecofriendly water-refill station at the finish that uses as little single-use plastic as possible.
Have the right kit
It’s a good idea to check the weather before your event and dress accordingly. Think breathable sports gear (leggings and shorts are ideal) and well-fitting trainers. For Pretty Muddy, wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.

Be sun smart
Stay sun safe by finding shade when you’re not on the course and covering up with clothes, a hat and sunglasses. On parts you can’t cover, use sunscreen with at least SPF15 and a 4 or 5 star rating. Find out more about being sun smart.
Your back sign and race number
Remember to bring your back sign and Race number which will be sent to you in the post – don’t forget safety pins so you can attach them to you.
