About the 10k event

Looking for more of a challenge without any pressure? Race for Life 10k is for you!
Our 10k events are now chip-timed, so you can find out if you’ve beaten your personal best – while you’re raising funds to help beat cancer.
10k is just over 6 miles. Take it at your own pace or push yourself a little more. Have fun with it and enjoy the atmosphere.

The start is in the centre of the racecourse, please follow signs and take direction from stewards on arrival.

Pedestrians: Please access the Main Event Site via the car park off Staines Road East (A308) nearest Kempton Park Racecourse building.
General Event Parking: There is plenty of free parking available within Kempton Park Racecourse Car Park.
Blue Badge Parking: There is blue badge parking bays available in the Kempton Park Racecourse Car Park.
Drop Offs: You are welcome to be dropped off in the car park.
Public Transport:
Kempton Park is partially accessible to wheelchair users. There is level access to platform 2 (for trains to Shepperton). Passengers for Kingston and London Waterloo are advised to use Hampton station which is 2.4 miles from the racecourse.
Bus: The nearest bus stop is The Avenue - Sunbury-on-Thames TW16 5EH - 571 (0.3 miles)
Other bus options are the number: 290, 235, 635
Train: The nearest train station is Kempton Park Railway Station which exits into the car park within the racecourse grounds (0.3 miles).
Electric Charging points: PodPoint Charging Station - Escot Rd, Sunbury-on-Thames TW16 7BB (1.2 miles)
Cycling & Bike Racks:
There are free of charge Bike Racks within Kempton Park
Near the north Entrance - Approx. 15-20 Spaces
Near the South Gate - Approx. 15-20 Spaces
This event is wheelchair accessible with assistance. The majority of the course is on hardstanding ground, but there are sections of the course that cross over the racetrack, making the ground slightly uneven at this point and small sections near the start/finish that travel on grass.

If you feel you might need extra help at the event please do pick up a badge at the Blue Enquires Marquee so that our crew and volunteers can look out for you and check you are OK.

Bring a water bottle
We’re trying to reduce single-use plastic at Race for Life. Please bring your own reusable water bottle, already filled. We'll provide an ecofriendly water-refill station at the finish that uses as little single-use plastic as possible.
Have the right kit
It’s a good idea to check the weather before your event and dress accordingly. Think breathable sports gear (leggings and shorts are ideal) and well-fitting trainers. For Pretty Muddy, wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.

Be sun smart
Stay sun safe by finding shade when you’re not on the course and covering up with clothes, a hat and sunglasses. On parts you can’t cover, use sunscreen with at least SPF15 and a 4 or 5 star rating. Find out more about being sun smart.

Remember to bring your back sign and Race number which will be sent to you in the post – don’t forget safety pins so you can attach them to you.
