About the 10k event
Looking for more of a challenge without any pressure? Race for Life 10k is for you!
Our 10k events are now chip-timed, so you can find out if you’ve beaten your personal best – while you’re raising funds to help beat cancer.
10k is just over 6 miles. Take it at your own pace or push yourself a little more. Have fun with it and enjoy the atmosphere.

The start and finish lines are located in the field next to the Animal Farm

Pedestrians: The closest entrance to the event site for pedestrians is the Animal Farm entrance on Hemsworth Road
General Event Parking: Located in the field in front of the cricket pavilion on Cobnar Road, off Hemsworth Road. The journey from this car park to the event site is a 5 min walk and does involve a path with a steep and gradual incline
Please adhere to the one way system and 5mph restrictions at all times.
Event Parking is free of charge.
Blue Badge Parking: Limited Blue Badge parking spaces are available at the animal farm entrance off Hemsworth Road, this car park would be most suited to blue badge holders.
Alternatively event parking (including additional blue badge parking) is available at the Cobnar Road entrance, off Hemsworth Road.

Volunteer Parking: Volunteer parking is the same as general event parking. Please refer to this section.
Drop Offs: Participants can be dropped off in the allocated zone on Cobnar Road. A steward will be on hand to assist and direct you.

Bus: Graves Park is serviced by multiple bus routes. The nearest bus stop to the event site is Hemsworth Road which is a 5 min walk away via the Animal Farm car park entrance. Train: The nearest train station is Sheffield, located 4 miles away
Electric Charging points: The closest car charging point to the event site is at Morrisons Meadowhead, S8 7UE
Cycling & Bike Racks: Not available at the venue
We aim to provide our supporters with as much information as possible so that they can make an informed choice based on their own specific needs.

We have assessed this route and concluded it is not wheelchair accessible. We have a 3K event on the same day that is accessible

We aim to have a British Sign Language Interpreter available on stage whilst our event host is speaking
Bring a water bottle
We’re trying to reduce single-use plastic at Race for Life. Please bring your own reusable water bottle, already filled. We'll provide an ecofriendly water-refill station at the finish that uses as little single-use plastic as possible.
Have the right kit
It’s a good idea to check the weather before your event and dress accordingly. Think breathable sports gear (leggings and shorts are ideal) and well-fitting trainers. For Pretty Muddy, wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.

Be sun smart
Stay sun safe by finding shade when you’re not on the course and covering up with clothes, a hat and sunglasses. On parts you can’t cover, use sunscreen with at least SPF15 and a 4 or 5 star rating. Find out more about being sun smart.
Your back sign and race number
Remember to bring your back sign and Race number which will be sent to you in the post – don’t forget safety pins so you can attach them to you.
