About the 3k event
At just over 2 miles, 3k is ideal for families or groups having a go at their first Race for Life. It's a fun, achievable event for everyone – and an unforgettable day out. There's no pressure to finish in a certain time. Walk, jog or run or make your way around the course however suits you and help fund life-saving cancer research.

Event details
The start and finish is in between the hedges by the Cloverdale Café, on the field directly next to the lake, near the outdoor gym equipment and play area.

By car:
General Event Parking: Dedicated parking is in the Bedford Athletics Stadium parking field and is approximately 1km from the start line. Please follow Event Day Parking signs and steward directions on the dayh. This is a free car park. Signage will direct you from the car park to the event site.
Blue Badge Parking: Blue Badge parking can be found in the main Priory Coutry Park Car Park using the main entrance off Barker's Lane. Follow Blue Badge signage and steward directions on the day. Parking is free of charge.
Volunteer Parking: Volunteer parking can be found in the main Priory Coutry Park Car Park using the main entrance off Barker's Lane. Follow Volunteer signage and steward directions on the day. Parking is free of charge.
Drop Offs: Dropp of area is located in the main Priory Coutry Park Car Park using the main entrance off Barker's Lane. Follow Blue Badge signage and steward directions on the day.
Electric Charging points: There are none available at this event.
Public transport and pedestrians:
Pedestrians: There are various access points to Priory Country Park from external roads. The main entrance is off Barkers Lane.
Bus: The closest bus stop is on Malmsbury Way and the No. 10 bus route runs from here.
Train: Bedford Railway Station is approximately 3 miles away and Thameslik provide services on this line.
Cycling & Bike Racks: There is a cycle rack outside Cloverdale Cafe. There are several routes into the park for cyclists.
We aim to provide our supporters with as much information as possible so that they can make an informed choice based on their own specific needs.
Event Site: The start and finish areas are both on the same grass field with tarmac paths surrounding it.
Course: Unfortunately this event is not deemed suitable for wheelchair users due to the cross-country terrain of Priory Country Park. The course is mostly on grass and this can become boggy when there is poor weather.
We aim for maximum accessibility at our events. Our contact centre and on-site team are ready to assist with any needs or questions you may have.
Additional Support request badges are available, and our Event Managers are trained Dementia Friends.
Bring a water bottle
We’re trying to reduce single-use plastic at Race for Life. Please bring your own reusable water bottle, already filled. We'll provide an ecofriendly water-refill station at the finish that uses as little single-use plastic as possible.
Have the right kit
It’s a good idea to check the weather before your event and dress accordingly. Think breathable sports gear (leggings and shorts are ideal) and well-fitting trainers. For Pretty Muddy, wear something you don’t mind getting dirty.

Be sun smart
Stay sun safe by finding shade when you’re not on the course and covering up with clothes, a hat and sunglasses. On parts you can’t cover, use sunscreen with at least SPF15 and a 4 or 5 star rating. Find out more about being sun smart.
Your back sign and race number
Remember to bring your back sign and Race number which will be sent to you in the post – don’t forget safety pins so you can attach them to you.
